Pizza Margherita

To prepare Italian Margherita pizza you will need the following ingredients:

Pizza dough

1 large tomato

150 g hard cheese (e.g. mozzarella)

Fresh basil

Olive oil

Salt

Freshly ground black pepper

So, let’s start by preparing the pizza dough. You can use ready-made dough from the store or make your own. After this, preheat the oven to 220°C.

The next step is to grate the tomato on a coarse grater to obtain tomato puree. Also grate the cheese on the same grater.

Roll out the dough onto a flat surface and place it on a baking sheet that has been previously floured or drained. Brush the dough with tomato puree, then sprinkle it with grated cheese. Top the pizza with fresh basil leaves and season with salt and pepper to taste. The abundance of fresh basil resulted in such a fragrant and delicious dish!

Place the pizza in the preheated oven for 15—20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. Once the pizza is ready, remove it from the oven, cut into portions and serve hot.
