In the years of my reckless youth as a student I began to think about the nature of love, then my interest in the thrill of the soul became stable — I began to note the nuances of my own and observed love stories. A passion for psychology and philosophy gave a new impetus to thinking about love. Somehow the idea of sharing original insights came up, but it took about 25 years before it translated into a book. I hope I was not mistaken in my willingness to take this step on the Confucius scale.
